Stephen P. Kahn, MD, and his family are making a difference, one employee at a time. After a long and successful career of caring for patients in our community, Dr. Kahn retired in 2014. His unwavering gratitude to all of the staff with whom he worked over many years inspired him and his wife, Florence, to create an endowment that supports surgical staff training and professional development at Princeton Medical Center.

The Stephen P. Kahn Operating Room Staff Professional Development Endowment Award has been presented to a Princeton Medical Center surgical services employee each year since the endowment was initiated. The recipient receives a stipend to be used to support and further advance his or her continued education as it relates to the surgical or medical field. In November 2019, Christian Larbie was selected as the recipient to receive the endowment funding. Christian joined the surgical suite team in 2018 as a patient care technician and knew that he had found his passion.

Christian is currently enrolled in community college, focusing on nursing/pre-med. He plans to use the funding to prepare for medical school exams. Upon his graduation this May, Christian will continue his educational studies and move toward a professional degree in medicine.

Dr. Kahn is an incredible surgeon who always took his responsibility of teaching and training those around him very seriously. Even in his retirement, he continues pay it forward. Aside from sharing his talent, he has been a loyal ambassador for Princeton Health within the community and has served as a former member of the Princeton Health Board of Trustees, the Princeton Medical Center Foundation Board of Directors, and many advisory and fundraising committees.
