Dentist Makes a Provision in Will to Ensure Cancer Center Remains Cutting-Edge

Michael L. Barnett, DDS, recently made a provision in his will to Princeton Health Foundation to establish a future endowment to support technology and innovation for the Edward and Marie Matthews Center for Cancer Care at the Princeton Medical Center (PMC).

As a dentist with a specialty in periodontics and oral medicine, Dr. Barnett has a keen awareness of the importance of keeping pace with advances in technology in order to provide exceptional diagnostic and treatment services. In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Barnett has extensive senior leadership experience in academia, hospital administration, and the pharmaceutical industry. In an era of constantly evolving technology, it is critical for hospitals to acquire the latest equipment to provide sustainable and quality care. Dr. Barnett hopes that his future endowment “will provide resources that will enable Princeton Health to remain at the forefront of cancer diagnosis and treatment.”

Dr. Barnett attributes his decision to establish a future endowment first and foremost to his favorable experiences as a patient at PMC and relationship to Princeton Health. “My decision was based on first, a personal involvement with Princeton Health, second, the desire to support an institution important to our community, and third, an ability to have a positive impact on future patient care,” Dr. Barnett noted. Dr. Barnett is a member of Princeton Health Foundation’s Board of Directors, Cancer Center Advisory Committee, and Internal Grants Review Committee.
