Although he retired from practice in 2014, Steven P. Kahn, MD, continues to leave a lasting impact on Princeton Medical Center, where he spent his career as a distinguished general, endocrine and vascular surgeon. Dr. Kahn and his wife, Florence, generously established an endowment with Princeton Medical Center Foundation upon his retirement. This endowment, known as the Steven P. Kahn Operating Room Staff Professional Development Endowment, is dedicated to supporting the training and professional growth of our surgical staff. Annual stipends help cover the cost of classes and learning materials for those motivated to advance their career in surgical services.
Last fall, Robert Streeter, III, was selected as the recipient of the endowment. Robert began his career in the Princeton Medical Center Operating Room 13 years ago in various support roles. As hospital services evolved and expanded, so did Robert’s role within the organization. When the COVID-19 pandemic renewed his inner strength and deepened his desire to help others, he decided to pursue a degree in nursing. During his childhood, the nursing profession was always personified by his mother, a former employee of Princeton Medical Center.
“Dr. Kahn and the Operating Room staff have become family, and I look forward to completing my nursing education and making that family proud,” said Robert. Thanks to this generous endowment, I have the support to help me reach my goals – and to in turn make a difference for patients in this new capacity.”
This program not only honors Dr. Kahn’s legacy to support surgical excellence but also reinforces Princeton Medical Center’s commitment to outstanding care. We extend our deepest gratitude to Dr. Kahn and his family for their enduring support and for fostering a culture of learning and growth in our community.
“This honor reflects a commitment to nurturing the next generation of health care leaders and underscores the importance of investing in the education and growth of aspiring nurses like me.” – Robert Streeter, III (pictured above, left), 2023 endowment recipient, with Dr. Steven P. Kahn
