Patients at Princeton Health, including the Center for Pediatric Care, the Center for Eating Disorders, and those treated in various areas of Princeton House Behavioral Health, have been positively impacted by the generous donations of art supplies and more from the community. Through these donations, patients have gained access to therapeutic art activities that enhance their emotional well-being, aid in healing, and foster a sense of community. Below are a few examples of how the community has helped over the past year.
Tessa Katz and a friend, both seniors at Princeton High School, wanted to do something special for Valentine’s Day. They put together gift bags with Play-Doh, stuffed animals, pencils, and crayons, which were given out to our pediatric patients to brighten their day.
Gianna Brown, an 8th grader and National Honor Society student, collected stuffed animals as part of a community service project. She chose the Center for Pediatric Care as the recipient of the cuddly toys. After being an inpatient here, she wanted to say thank you by giving back.
Pond Road Middle School in Robbinsville donated a broad array of art supplies to Princeton House Behavioral Health, where art therapy is an integral component of each patient’s treatment plan.
Ananya Almeida, a student at South Brunswick High School, is a member of a group of students who work together to show support for those who are ill and those who work in the medical field. The group collected supplies for patients in the Center for Eating Disorders to use during group sessions and for journaling. The project raised awareness of eating disorders among her peers and others in the community.
Firmenich Corporation has long been a generous supporter of Penn Medicine Princeton Health, and recently their employees collected art supplies which were distributed to the Center for Pediatric Care, the Center for Eating Disorders and Princeton House Behavioral Health. The Firmenich Foundation also made a financial contribution to ensure that these departments would have continued access to supplies. |
These donations highlight the many ways individuals, companies, and community groups can have a positive impact on our patients’ well-being. We are thankful for the generosity of these civic-minded donors and partners.
