The physicians at PMC’s Center for Emergency Care may order diagnostic tests depending on your symptoms. Examples of these tests include blood work, EKGs, CT scans, MRIs and X-rays. Each test will be discussed with you before it is performed.
Some tests can be completed and results obtained very quickly; others can take several hours to complete. Some tests require a preparation period: For example, an abdominal CT scan requires that you drink a liquid that will improve the clarity of the study.
