Since its inception in 1978, Princeton HealthCare System (PHCS) Foundation has advanced our community’s health through support of the superior care delivered by the talented and compassionate staff and physicians of University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro (UMCPP), formerly University Medical Center at Princeton, as well as Princeton House Behavioral Health and Princeton Caregivers. In fact, Princeton Hospital was actually started through an act of philanthropy, when in 1919 Moses Taylor Pyne donated his farmhouse to help those suffering from a worldwide flu outbreak.
Today, with the support of more than 1,300 community members in 2013, PHCS Foundation continues the tradition of philanthropy by investing in technology and subsidizing educational opportunities that would otherwise not have been possible. Funds help to support the ongoing education of many of our nurses and physicians, ensuring they are trained in the most current practices in caring for very young and the more senior of our neighbors. Your contributions also enhance the care provided at the Bristol-Myers Squibb Community Health Center for those who are uninsured or underinsured, contributing toward medication and transportation needs.
Our Annual Fund affords you, our community members, the opportunity to come together to support each other in health and well-being. Many people give to PHCS in honor of a staff member who made a difference, or in memory of a loved one. Some donors have never used our hospital, but they want to be sure that the best possible care will be available whenever it is needed.
