PHCS in the News—Hepatitis C Research

Hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection, which formerly affected primarily Baby Boomers, has increased dramatically among young people in recent years due to the nationwide epidemic of heroin abuse. Ongoing research at Princeton House Behavioral Health—conducted with assistance from infectious disease experts at ID Care—is intended to measure the prevalence of HCV infection, identify barriers to medical care and connect individuals to appropriate treatment. The study results will help to develop a treatment model that integrates addiction and mental health services with medical care for HCV.
