Web Chat with Anish A. Sheth, MD—Acid Reflux

August 12, 2015
Anish Sheth, MD

Anish A. Sheth, MD, Chief of Gastroenterology at University Medical Center of Princeton (UMCP) and Medical Director of the hospital's comprehensive Esophageal Program, will discuss acid reflux during a live web chat on Thursday, August 20.

An estimated 20 percent of American adults regularly experience heartburn or other symptoms of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), commonly known as acid reflux. Long-term, chronic reflux can cause serious health problems, including a precancerous condition known as Barrett's esophagus.

Dr. Sheth, a board certified gastroenterologist on the medical staff of Princeton HealthCare System (PHCS), will focus on endoscopic therapy of Barrett's esophagus during the web chat, which begins at 7 p.m. on August 20.

He also will discuss the signs and symptoms of GERD, advanced testing for acid reflux and the lifestyle changes and medications that can alleviate symptoms.

To view the web chat, visit the PHCS USTREAM channel, www.ustream.tv/princetonhealth, on your computer, tablet or smartphone.

Dr. Sheth will respond to questions from audience members. To ask questions during the web chat, viewers may create an account or log in using an existing Facebook or USTREAM account.

Questions also may be emailed in advance to PrincetonHealth@gmail.com.
