A Princeton-based urogynecology practice and its two providers — Heather M. van Raalte, MD and Andrea Barker, PA–C — have joined Princeton Medicine Physicians, the primary and specialty care network of Penn Medicine Princeton Health.

The practice, now known as Princeton Medicine Physicians – Princeton Urogynecology, will maintain its office location at 10 Forrestal Road South, Suite 205, Princeton. For appointments, call 609-924-2230.

The practice focuses on providing comprehensive care related to conditions affecting the female pelvic floor, including pelvic organ prolapse, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, bowel control issues, voiding difficulties, and recurrent urinary tract infections. Minimally invasive treatment options and innovative technology offer patients the latest options for care such as robotic surgery, laser office treatments, non-medication treatment options for bowel or bladder control, and coordinated pelvic floor physical therapy services.

Dr. van Raalte, who serves as Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Princeton Health, is double board certified in obstetrics and gynecology and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. She is one of several Princeton Health medical staff members who perform minimally invasive, robotic-assisted surgical procedures at Princeton Medical Center.

A graduate of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tenn., Dr. van Raalte received her medical doctorate from the University of Vanderbilt Medical School and completed her OB/GYN residency at SUNY-Stony Brook University Hospital in Stony Brook, N.Y. She completed a fellowship in urogynecology at The Institute for Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery in Allentown, Pa.

Mrs. Barker is a board certified physician assistant who specializes in urogynecology and female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery. Prior to joining the practice, she worked for more than 15 years as the Chief Physician Assistant in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City.

She is a graduate of Siena College in Loudonville, N.Y. and earned her physician assistant degree from Touro University in Long Island, N.Y.
