UMCP Spotlights Healthier Living in 2016

University Medical Center of Princeton (UMCP) plans to ring in 2016 with a pair of fun, informative events focused on helping people to lose weight and keep it off.

The first of the two events, Wellness Wonderland, is scheduled for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, January 23, 2016.

Wellness Wonderland will be held in the Education Center at UMCP, 1 Plainsboro Road, Plainsboro.

Attendees can take tours of Princeton Fitness & Wellness at Plainsboro and the new Center for Bariatric Surgery & Metabolic Medicine, both of which are adjacent to the hospital. Those who tour the new center will have opportunities to meet the outstanding physicians and staff and ask questions.

The event will also feature:

  • Free health screenings
  • Cooking and exercise demonstrations
  • Tips on living healthy
  • Children's crafts and activities
  • Giveaways and fantastic door prizes
  • Healthy, delicious treats
Walk-ins are welcome but registration is encouraged. Those who register by January 19 and attend Wellness Wonderland will be entered in a drawing for a $100 gift card.

The following week, on Tuesday, January 26, 2016, the Center for Bariatric Surgery & Metabolic Medicine will hold an open house at its new location in the Medical Arts Pavilion, 5 Plainsboro Road, 2nd Floor, Suite 275, Plainsboro (attached to UMCP).

The open house will run from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Visitors will be able to tour the new center, meet physicians and staff and enjoy delicious, healthy refreshments as they learn about the weight management services available through UMCP. They will have opportunities to ask questions, talk to former patients and hear about the treatment options offered through the center.

As with Wellness Wonderland, the open house will welcome walk-in visitors, but registration is encouraged. Those who register by January 19 and attend the open house will be entered in a drawing for a $100 gift card.
