Princeton House Patients, Staff Receive Heartfelt Valentine Messages
Inpatients at Princeton House Behavioral Health received cards bearing messages of love and encouragement this afternoon on Valentine’s Day, thanks to the thoughtfulness of students and campus community members at The College of New Jersey (TCNJ).
"Our campus community is proud to be of service to the patients and staff members at Penn Medicine Princeton House Behavioral Health,” said Eric Van Eck, Recovery & Prevention Coordinator, TCNJ Collegiate Recovery Program, who delivered more than 125 cards today that were later handed to patients and staff by allied clinical therapists at Princeton House. “We want them to know that we are thinking about them and supporting them in their recovery journey.” The cards, a part of a twice-a-year initiative, were created by students and staff members at TCNJ’s Ewing, N.J. campus. Cards were also delivered for Thanksgiving.
“Our patients are very grateful to receive these thoughtful cards,” said Yuko Martin, Director of Allied Clinical Therapies at Princeton House. “Their faces brighten up as they read the messages of encouragement and support and know that someone out there is rooting for their recovery.”
Princeton House offers acute inpatient treatment — typically lasting seven to 10 days — for adults with a mental health or substance use disorder or both. The inpatient hospital has served central New Jersey since 1971. Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospital services, including the Women’s Program, are located in Princeton, Eatontown, Hamilton, Moorestown, and North Brunswick.
