Princeton Health Announces Plan to Repurpose Plainsboro Fitness Center

November 28, 2022
Princeton Health
Penn Medicine Princeton Health recently completed a strategic plan which concluded that additional space is required on the Princeton Medical Center campus to meet the increasing demand for medical care and services. Princeton Health determined it must repurpose the space currently used by Princeton Fitness & Wellness at Plainsboro to better serve patients and the broader community. Princeton Fitness & Wellness at Plainsboro will close December 31, 2022.

We regret any inconvenience to Princeton Fitness & Wellness at Plainsboro members, and we are working with our partners at Fitness & Wellness to ensure that members can transfer to the Princeton Fitness & Wellness Center located at 206 State Road in Princeton, RWJ Hamilton Fitness & Wellness Center at 3100 Quakerbridge Road in Hamilton, or one of the organization’s other facilities.

The Krogh Outpatient Rehabilitation site will remain in place. Princeton Health is evaluating options to relocate hospital-based services, such as Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, to the fitness center space and developing plans for an ambulatory care center.

We appreciate the center staff’s commitment to helping individuals pursue their fitness goals over the past 10 years. Staff members affected by the closing have been provided with information about open positions in the Fitness & Wellness organization. We are also sharing information with the staff about positions at Princeton Health and across the Penn Medicine System.
