January 27, 2015
Monika Kushwaha, PsyD
Monika Kushwaha, PsyD, a member of the Princeton HealthCare System (PHCS) medical staff, will provide an overview of mindfulness and discuss how it can help relieve stress during a live web chat Monday, February 2.

To view the web chat, which begins at 12 p.m., visit PHCS' USTREAM channel at www.ustream.tv/princetonhealth on your computer, tablet or smartphone.

Mindfulness is a state achieved by focusing one's awareness in the present moment while acknowledging everything that we experience, both internally and externally. Practicing mindfulness can help individuals manage difficult emotions and reduce anxiety and depression.

Dr. Kushwaha, Supervising Psychologist at Princeton House Behavioral Health's Women's Programs, will present an introduction to mindfulness and offer advice on staying focused when the mind begins to wander.

Audience questions are encouraged. To ask questions during the web chat, viewers may create an account or log in using an existing Facebook or USTREAM account.

Questions also may be emailed in advance to PrincetonHealth@gmail.com.

To register for the chat, visit www.princetonhcs.org/calendar or call 1-888-897-8979.

Registration is not required. However, those who register will be entered in a drawing to win one of several gift cards that will be awarded immediately following the web chat. Viewers must be present to win.
