Cousin babies born 48 minutes apart
Pictured, left to right: Jeffrey Sussman, Nikol Sussman (holding daughter Charlotte Ava Sussman), Kimberly Sussman (holding son Tyler Levi Sussman) and Scott Sussman. The adorable cousins arrived 48 minutes apart Tuesday at University Medical Center of Princeton.

Nikol (Reisman) Sussman and Kimberly (Brudner) Sussman were best friends in childhood and throughout high school in Manalapan. They later met and married brothers from the Princeton area. It would seem too good to be true if they had their first babies together, but that is exactly what happened on Tuesday, November 8, at University Medical Center of Princeton (UMCP).

The whole wonderful episode started Monday night during dinner at their in-laws' house. Nikol and her husband, Jeffrey Sussman, were expecting their baby any day. Kim and her husband, Scott Sussman, were expecting an arrival later in the month. Soon-to-be-Grandmom Sussman served her famous meatloaf.

The next day, both Nikol and Kim went into labor and arrived at the hospital around the same time. Kim gave birth first at 5:04 p.m. to a boy, Tyler Levi Sussman. Nikol followed at 5:52 p.m., delivering a daughter, Charlotte Ava Sussman.

Both babies are healthy, happy and surrounded by family today in the Center for Maternal & Newborn Care at UMCP. The running joke is that mom's meatloaf inspired the dual deliveries. The meatloaf is reported to be very good. No word on special ingredients.
