Dr. Deborah K. Sokol Now Seeing Patients in Hamilton

May 7, 2015
Dr. Deborah K. Sokol
Deborah K. Sokol, MD, a board certified gastroenterologist with Princeton Medicine, now sees patients in a new office at the Hamilton Area YMCA John K. Rafferty Branch.

Dr. Sokol had been practicing in Robbinsville since joining Princeton Medicine, the employed physician group of Princeton HealthCare System (PHCS).

Her new location is within PHCS' facilities at the YMCA, 1315 Whitehorse-Mercerville Road, Suite 100, Hamilton. To schedule an appointment, please call 609-750-3040.

Dr. Sokol provides care for patients with conditions such as gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), celiac disease and chronic constipation.

She has a special interest in gastrointestinal (GI) issues that tend to affect women, including irritable bowel syndrome, and also uses emerging technologies such as capsule endoscopy—the "pill camera"—which helps to diagnose Crohn's disease and previously undetermined sources of anemia or GI bleeding.

Colon cancer screening is one of the most vital services Dr. Sokol provides. To make it more convenient, she offers direct access colonoscopy, which allows patients who meet certain criteria to promptly schedule a routine screening colonoscopy without a prior office visit.

Dr. Sokol performs colonoscopy and upper endoscopy procedures in the ambulatory surgery center at University Medical Center of Princeton.

Princeton Medicine employs more than 60 practitioners with offices in Princeton, Plainsboro, Monroe, Hamilton, Lawrenceville, Robbinsville, South Brunswick, and Ewing. In addition to the Princeton Medicine name, the group includes Comprehensive OB/GYN Care of Princeton, Ewing Medical Associates, Hamilton Medical Group, NJ Bariatrics, Princeton Pike Internal Medicine and Rednor-Risi Family Medicine.

Medicare and most major insurance plans are accepted, including new plans offered through the Health Insurance Marketplace.
