Vince Papale, a cancer survivor whose inspirational journey to become a Philadelphia Eagle was portrayed in the movie Invincible, will be the keynote speaker when University Medical Center of Princeton (UMCP) observes Cancer Survivors Day on Sunday, June 7.

Survivors, their friends and families, and anyone whose life has been touched by cancer are invited to Celebrate Strength, Celebrate Life—a day of inspiration and wellness that will be held from 9 a.m. to noon in the Edward & Marie Matthews Center for Cancer Care at UMCP, 1 Plainsboro Road, Plainsboro.

The celebration will include breakfast, music, chair massages and activities for children. Mr. Papale is scheduled to speak from 10 to 10:30 a.m., followed by a 15-minute Q-and-A session.

The cost is free, but registration is required. Please call 1-888-897-8979 or visit www.princetonhcs.org/calendar.

This event was made possible by a generous grant from the Celgene Corporation and the support of Princeton HealthCare System (PHCS) Community Education & Outreach and the Edward & Marie Matthews Center for Cancer Care.

The Cancer Program at UMCP is accredited by the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer (CoC) and is a two-time recipient of the CoC's Outstanding Achievement Award, which recognizes programs that strive for excellence in providing high-quality care for patients with cancer.
